Here's the situation...

Whenever I run into friends that find out I am doing Crossfit I get the same question from all of them. "Do you have a 6 pack?".  I like to answer "Yes Would you like to rub baby oil on it?" The question itself always makes me laugh a little because it highlights the vanity that is the reason most people exercise. The honest answer is no, I do not have a 6 pack. My abs are more like a 4 pack but it is not something I focus on. I do focus on building a strong, stable core however. Without a strong core, you stand a higher than average chance of getting injured. My advice to everyone is this. Quit doing crunches and start focusing on building functional muscle. You will feel better in the long run and you will probably still end up seeing your abs at some point....
