It's only 7 minutes.....

So I took my shot at the first Crossfit Open workout this morning. It was an AMRAP of Burpees for 7 mins. Now I have done a workout of solely burpees 4x since I started last May. Only two of them really apply to this. We did sets of 100 for time in July and August to see what our improvement would be. I did July's time in 9:38 and August in 8:00 so I wasn't really sure what to expect this time around and this was a little different because we had to touch a target 6" above our reach each time. Here is basically how it went.

0:00 - Regina says 3-2-1 Go.... I'm off and feeling pretty good. My plan is to get to 25 and take a break. I barely feel winded as I get to my first benchmark

1:30 -  I get started on my next set of 25. I feel great. I can't believe Travis only did 154 of these. He must and taken really long breaks. What a p*ssy!

3:00 -  I'm at 50 now and moving on. I'm not sure but I think Regina skipped counting a few of my reps. I'll take it up with her once I get to 200. I'm starting to get an odd burning feeling in my legs....

4:30 -  I'm at 70. I swear to God Regina has quit counting all together. I'd say something but I'm lucky to still be breathing at this point. I think I just saw Jesus materialize in the corner of the room.....

5:15 - I'm at 80. This is beginning to feel impossible. Travis must have done his on a trampoline. I take back what I said. He is a fire breathing Demigod...

5:45 - I'm at 90. Is it possible the bar is getting higher. I'm not sure I can reach it anymore. Damn, why couldn't I have been born with T-rex arms....

6:00 - Regina just said 95. Seriously??? Also the burning feeling in my legs is running all the way up my left side. I wonder if this is what a stroke feels like. I wish Jesus would bring me some water but he's just standing in the corner laughing at me.

6:15 - Just crossed 100. No breaks until I either die or pass out. I'm pretty sure you pass out before you die so I like my odds. I regret I didn't update my Will prior to starting.

6:30 - I know it's getting close to the end but I swear time is moving slower that old people screwing.

6:50 - I think I just heard Regina say 10 seconds. I see a white light and it seems so inviting....

7:00 - TIME!!! 108 I can't believe it. I roll over onto my back to make sweat angels.

So that was it. I'm pretty happy with 108 all things considered. I would've liked to get a little higher but I'll live to WOD another day....
