This was BRUTAL! I swear to God 8 mins in felt like 30. Let's break it down piece by piece...

Box Jumps - A few months ago I wiped out on a Box Jump and ever since then I have developed this little "stutter step" when I jump back off the box. My trainer Regina pointed it out about 7 jumps in and once I corrected it shouted "Great! Those don't look so retarded now" She is quite the motivator. Afterward she told me "We are going to have to work on your box jumps. I usually think it's just a box and you fucking jump on it but you found a way to fuck it up." I might be embellishing a bit but you get the general idea. That's why we love her....

Push Press - This is my mortal enemy. Anything overhead really sucks for me and my elbows had been hurting from 2 days of Thrusters & Push Presses from earlier in the week. My rack position has been piss poor so I was determined to get it right today mostly to just escape injury. Mission accomplished. It was still heavy as hell but my elbows don't hurt. I'm also oddly excited when someone yells "Nice rack" at me....

Toes to Bar - This is where I knew I would make up some time. Without bragging, I am pretty good at these. I was bound and determined to not hear the words "No Rep!" so I was kicking that bar so hard the entire rack shook. Also the clown shoes I wore really helped in getting my toes on the bar. I did the first 5 rounds unbroken and the last one in 5/4. I could've done that one unbroken but I was more winded than a fat kid chasing an ice cream truck....

All in all, I can live with my score. I felt like I was at my maximum capacity and wouldn't improve much (or at all) if I did it over. I am really glad however, that I let everyone talk me into doing the open even though I knew there was no hope for me to do anything other than have fun. It has helped me have confidence in my cardio that I didn't have before and has shown me some areas to focus on in strength training. Now bring on 12.4!
