2012 Arnold Show Review

So I saw these two guys at the Arnold Show yesterday. That's Rich Froning aka the Fittest man on Earth on the left and Dan Bailey on the right. Rich seemed a little intimidated when he saw me. Word must have gotten to him of my three 135# snatches yesterday. It might be the worldwide ranking of 7792 that had him rattled. I'm practically breathing down his neck....

It was also the first time I've seen Dan Bailey in person. I own that same shirt he has on in that picture but mine fits way better (i.e. looser) in the sleeves. He probably has it tailored to make it tight like that. I was going to tell him that headband was a little douchie but I wasn't sure how fast he could run. Apparently not that fast since he keeps losing to Rich....

The show itself was fun but REALLY crowded. It was wall to wall people and every booth was staffed by girls in bikini tops and booty shorts. Apparently the only prerequisite for working an Arnold show is long hair, fake boobs, and a spray on tan. They looked they the hottest Oompa Loompas ever. I've never seen so many orange women in my life. They could've killed two birds with one stone and just implanted grapefruits in their chest....

The booths/displays themselves were very repetitive. Everyone was selling a variation of the same thing. I've never seen so many samples of protein bars, shakes, puddings, etc in one place. I'm pretty sure you could advertise horse semen in there and some meathead would try it if they thought it would make them stronger. Come to thing of it, the protein pudding was a little strong....Hmmmmmmmm

We saw a few celebs there. Lou Ferrigno aka The Hulk was giving away stuff. I thought it was a little ironic to see him at the Arnold show but truthfully he looked good and big as ever. I asked him if he thought he could out lift me and he said, "Yes". I told him, "Don't make me angry Lou. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry." I don't think he's ever heard that before. Mostly because he is deaf out of the ear I said it into....

I also saw Carmen Electra from across the aisle. Actually the crowd was so thick I only saw the top of her head which is really the part most guys see of her anyway, so I hear....

Most Impressive Part of the Show: Rogue Fitness - Those guys have their act together. They had a great setup, great staff, and had everything on display. I was really blown away at how efficient and organized they were. They also had iPads to ring people out which always gives me geek wood....

Most Disappointing part of the Show: Reebok - This is the biggest sponsor Crossfit has and they can't get their credit card machine to work. More disappointing than that, they really had a limited supply of product. What they did have was priced too high. They are trying to compete with Lululemon without the hot, yoga pants'd salespeople. Bad idea Reebok. Get it together...

All in all it was a fun show. I'd love to do it again and about the only thing I would do different would be to bring some food or eat before I went in. Man cannot live on protein bars alone....
