Even though I barely missed sub 20, this was still a new PR for me by two and a half mins. Not bad for an old guy of Forty-cough cough cough.......Sorry. I got something in my throat there. That workout was a b*tch and my hands are a little beat up from it. Every time I do that many pull-ups in that short a time frame I rip my palms open. I'm going to have to put vaseline all over them so it's gonna be weird around here and by weird I mean just like every other night.
The push-ups were uneventful for the most part but I burned myself out a little during the pull-ups. All in all I felt ok during these but my sets were too short. They need work.
I was a little surprised at how much the pull-ups & push-ups impacted my sit-ups. I really thought I would fly through those but my arms were jelly and I had a hard time getting my rhythm. They started to come together right at the end but I wish I could get a do over and I could make up some time. On a side note, for those of you that suffer from Abmat Sit-up butt rash I have a tip for you. If you are new to Crossfit, I'm guessing you don't know what this butt rash is so I will explain. It is where you do sit-ups with a mat behind your back and it causes your butt cheeks to rub together until you have a hickey like rash on both cheeks. It looks like the worst Rorschach ink blot ever. If you want to prevent it, take a large square latex band-aid and put it on one side of your tush, right at the top of where the good lord split you. I do it every time and it works like a champ. Now you have the visual. You. Are. Welcome.
After all of that, the squats were not a big deal. All you have to do is bounce up and down and finish quick. By the way, that tip works great for squats or second dates.
The fun thing about Crossfit is that you can have PR days and crappy days so I have something to look forward to tomorrow....
