Another week of this and I'll have to join CrossFit Nuthouse...

Well, I am on day three of no CrossFit due to the stupid back injury. Unfortunately for me I still wake up each morning at 5am. I guess I am either conditioned to do that or I am not drinking enough scotch in the evenings. Either way it kind of sucks. I still got up and got in an exciting WOD of putting away the dishes followed by two rounds of laundry. At least the morning was productive. I wonder if the neighbors find it weird when I shout "Time!" just as the laundry buzzer goes off.....

The back is actually starting to feel a little better but I still haven't heard back from my Dr. about the MRI. I'm pretty sure that means he's fighting with insurance over how much they will cover which means either no MRI for me or I need to find some back alley MRI guy to scan me on the cheap. I wonder if they even have those. If they do it's probably some guy with a metal detector, a pair of X-ray specs, and a degree from El Salvador University. I should get that lobotomy I have been saving up for while I am at it.

With or without the MRI, the best medicine for me is going to be rest or at the least a change in how I train. I am going to have to lay off the full CrossFit WODs for maybe a full month (*gasp*) and stick to less intense methods which means the Concept 2 Rower and I are about to become good friends. It also might be a good time to get proficient at double unders. I just bought a new Buddy Lee Jump rope that I really like so I think I'll take this opportunity to get good at them. That is assuming jumping will be less stressful than the running. I'll talk to the trainers about it and see what they say. All I know is doing nothing is going to drive me bat-sh*t crazy....
