CrossFit changed my wife...

I had a hard time getting out of bed this morning. The last two days had been rough and I was tucked in tighter than frogs behind. I mostly rolled out of bed and went in for two reasons.
1. Habit
2. I didn't want to catch Hell from Marty & Matt all day...

Having friends/workout partners is kind of like having a wife. You get nagged alot and if you sleep in you catch grief.  If you CrossFit with your wife, it must even be worse. Full Disclosure - Matt & Marty would NEVER complain about their wives to me. Especially if they read this blog...

Today we did a 3 parter.

Part 1: Push Jerk - 6x2 increase weight per set
Part 2: Double unders - 25 x 2 rest as needed between sets
Part 3: Run 200m rest 1 minute between sets - 8x

Part 1: The push jerks kind of sucked after the last two days of intense shoulder work. We inched our way up thru the 6 sets of 2 and ended at 165# which I thought was an ok weight. It wasn't that long ago that 165 would've been a 1 rep max for me. CrossFit definitely helps you make quick gains.

Part 2: The double unders were better than expected. I haven't done these in awhile and I have a new rope. I switched to a Buddy Lee rope with short handles. I tried the RX rope but I was whipping my legs so hard with that thing that I was going to either have to quit doing them altogether or join a S&M support group. A new rope seemed the way to go. I still can't do more than 10 in a row but I'm pretty consistent. At least my dominatrix thinks so....

Part 3: I decided to row instead of run. Running always kills my back and I'm not gonna risk it, even at a short distance like 200m. I did 8 intervals at 250m. Remember how I said I hated rowing yesterday? I hated it worse today. A second day of sliding my butt on that seat made me feel like I had been wodimized. Yes, that's a word.

Retraction - I'm going to give a RARE retraction on todays blog. Yesterday I mentioned how I CRUSHED Marty in the WOD. I need to point out that besides the fact that I was 20# lighter on the snatches than he was, I also think my counting/math was suspect. Those wall climbs sucked the life out of me and once I got north of ten in my counting, I wasn't really sure where I was. Here is the real issue. I went to school in Mississippi so counting is hard for me. Also I am an optimist so once I start my internal debate on how may reps I have done I usually err on the side of positive. Example(in my mind): "Was that 13 reps or 15? F*ck it. Definitely 15."....

CrossFit makes you stronger but I never said it would make you smarter....
