Well, I finished the first WOD of this Open and I can't decide if I'm disappointed or not. The WOD was :
10 minutes of as many reps as possible of:
30 Double Unders
15 Power Snatch
Here is why I can't decide how I feel about it. Last Sunday night I started coming down with a fever. By Monday morning it was 102 and stayed between 100 & 102 until Thursday. The doctor said I had tonsillitis and put me on antibiotics. It basically destroyed my diet since I could barely eat any solid food and had no appetite and the fever sapped all my strength. By Friday the fever was gone but I still could barely eat anything and by Saturday I knew I either had to do the WOD or DNF the first one. I chose to do it. Now normally double unders are my boo and while they didn't really give me problems, I was winded from the first set. I'm pretty sure I should have been able to get at least 6 full rounds out of that WOD but my body wasn't having it. In any event, I guess I will be happy that I was able to do the WOD at all and even though it wasn't the score I wanted, I was out there competing. When the Open is over and I am healthy I'll do it again to see if my pride is bigger than my rep count.
