CrossFit Nutrition

So I am one week into my training for the Masters Main Event at Coca CrossFit and I have to say that I am a little tired but proud. I did an overhaul to my diet and actually stuck to it. It was touch and go there a couple of days as I was getting headaches from sugar withdrawal and my liver is confused from it’s lack of having anything to filter...I’m not trying to do anything miraculous over the next 5 weeks but I know I have to keep my diet relatively clean if I want to have success.

Even though this is my first solo CrossFit competition it is not my first time training for something and I learn something every time. I figured I could use this time to let you guys in on what i am doing from a nutrition standpoint so if any of you are looking for nutrition advice from a non-nutritionist then you came to the right place. If you are not looking for nutrition tips then spoiler alert, it’s coming anyway. My blog, my rules...
  • Spend the money: I know it sucks to drop a wad of dough at Whole Foods but if you are going to buy meat and veggies then buy organic and grass fed. Your body will thank you for it. However your wallet will not. When I train I try to stick to chicken and salmon primarily but I squeeze in some bacon here and there because I love myself...
  • Eat some fat: I try to get avocados in where I can. I am not sure of the science behind it but I swear I fatigue less when I routinely eat avocados. They also make me curse in Spanish and if that insults you then you can besa mi culo, puto...
  • Drink water: I know. This is a no brainer but it is really hard for me. Lately I have been drinking a ton of flavored La Croix or as I call it “CrossFit Champagne”...
  • Green is good: You need green veggies in your life. I stick to the basics. Brussel sprouts, broccoli, and asparagus. I love asparagus because it’s like cologne for your pee. Think of it as Axe Body Spray for your d*ck...
  • No Guilt: I don’t believe in “cheats” or “treats”. If you want something then have it. Enjoy it and move on. Just make sure you get back on your plan. Life is too short to not enjoy what you are putting in your mouth. (That’s what she said...)
So that is basically my routine. I hope this helps a few of you but none of this is intended to be advice and those of you that have read more than one page of this blog know that my advice is pretty sh*tty anyway....
